Pianists

Generally creative rather than 'blocked'. Reading modern novels every night - just finished Justin Cartwright (Leading the Cheers) - well-constructed and some considerable depth to the work in spite of being easy to read. Started Home Truths by David Lodge. Listening to a lot of Piano Music. Bought a boxed set of Michelangli (Pianist) 10 CDs from eBay - very fine playing and interesting to contrast him with Horowitz and Gould.

Rehearsals going well for my forthcoming Piano CD (my compositions to be recorded by Pianist Louis Alvanis) - I find myself going in a jazz direction with my compositions - no bad thing in itself, as long as I have something original to say. We are going to use one of my colourful abstract watercolour paintings for the front cover of the CD and probably call the CD 'Piano Colours'.

My novel (Doctor Fish) is coming along slowly but surely although I picked up my first rejection slip for it today (from a literary agent). Trying to remain optimistic and upbeat there's a lot to live for right now, things are gradually falling into shape. I am enjoying teaching (the Piano) and the Internet opens up a lot of doors. I have more contacts today than ever before.
