Haydn and bridge

I have been listening to Haydn Piano Sonatas performed by Rudolf Buchbinder on Teldec. An amazing achievement to record the whole cycle (10 CDs !!!) - having discovered that bridge is the world's most profound game, I try to spend nearly every evening of my week playing duplicate or teams and thus improving my game. I already captain a (Middlesex County) division one team and think that I am going from strength to strength with my game.

Work progresses slowly but surely with Doctor Fish - at least I have enough material to start approaching literary agents early next year. It is a real intellectual and challenge of the imagination trying to construct a large scale work of fiction/fantasy, however, I am trying to savour every sentence and doing my best to write immortal prose (whatever that might be!)

Bach to the Fish

Have had a quiet but creative week ending on a high note with some good progress made on the novel (Doctor Fish). I've sent this around to my 'list' via email in the hope of getting some feedback before I start submitting it to literary agents in London. Listening to Bach's Mass in B minor - an exceptional Choral composition.
